So apparently Halo 2 is pretty good...or at least Pete says it is

  8. Do you know why cornish pasties were invented? They were made by the wives of the tin miners, and were provided as a meal in a neat package. The large crust was for the miner to hold it by, and was discarded afterwards - that way the person did not get poisoned by the metals.

Did you know Scotch Guard and Post It Glue were both flops at an attempt to make a different type of adhesive for tape?

Scotch Guard was an older formula that they were trying to make work as an adhesive. Some had spilled onto a technicians coat "after" he had spilled coffe on it. The coat was washed, and part of the spot did not come out. The technician knew that the adhesive formula fell on his coat after he spilled the coffee on it. He poured the Adhesive formula on a piece of colored cloth and then tried spilling other chemicals to stain it. The color did not fade, nor did any stains remain after the adhesive formula was placed on it.
(the story is often told differently, but this is how the Scotch company released it originally)

Post It glue was supposed to be an industrial strength adhesive for packaging tape. It was too dense, gell like, and it would never completely dry. Finally, some of the lab technicians took the goop and placed in on the back of some of their notes on the wall quickly and they knew the glue would easily be removable. Thus the first Post It notes were invented.

Oh no, that brings back a very bad memory.

In '95 I was making a short video to be sent out. I ran out of empty master tapes so I used one that had an episode of All in the Family recorded on it.

When I mixed the audio I had some switches set in the wrong position. When the tape was finished I was going to start duping them, but first took one final listen.

Well, the video was great but the audio had Archie Bunker saying something VERY offensive.

Oh my god, I'm really glad I caught that before I sent them out!!!

Did you know, In Massachusetts it is illegal to wear stilts at a construction site?

Odd as it seems, stilts really are commonly used at construction sites for people who do work on ceilings.
