    Hi,

I am using the DVC 80 right now, which is not very impressive, and a VCR even records a lot better, however, other then the poor quality I really like the editing and so on because with the software it is easy and quick to cut out commercials, and so on. What is better then the DVC 80 picture quality for capturing .avi and is it at least as well as a DVD if not better? What are better hardware and software, which captures video and audio for TV, online, stereo, DVD/VCR players, video cameras, and so on? Is easy to work with for editing (commercials, creating changing and adding for a home made videos, ...), backing up (video tapes, cassette tapes, DVDs, ...), and so on?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

The ati all in wonder series captures to avi. I've heard they're very good.

I use the hauppauge wintv pvr250 and love it. But it only captures in .mpg so it probably isn't what you're looking for.

Check out this list found on the left:

It has user reviews and features of severaly dozen different capture cards. Very useful.
