  1. Ok, I have 2,013 jpg files in one folder, able to recover a chunk of them. I think all of the photos are there, but a portion of them are completely black when I click on them, like they are erased. The files are there, but the pictures themselves are blacked out, any ideas? Is there a way I could possibly restore the photos that are blacked out? Thanks!

I'm assuming you did a file recovery to get these photos? Most likely they are corrupted and are unrecoverable. In other words part or most of the data for the photo was overwritten.

Those file recovery programs can restore partial files which is probably what you have. Did you happen to notice if there was any other copies. You can sometimes recover many copies of the same file if it was opened and saved a lot.

  4. Try opening the files in several different imaging programs, such as Paint Shop Pro, etc. before you consider the files as a lost cause. I wouldn't be suprised if they are still viewable with something.
