  1. I've downloaded recently a video file from morpheus encoded in divx 4.02 but when I played it there was no sound. I opened up virtual dub & check the file info the audio compression unknown(tag 0161)but there is an audio embed on it. how do I re-encode the video to get the audio working? please advise. thanks!

    This means you don't have the correct audio codec installed on your system. A divx video file can contain audio in severeal formats like MPEG4, MP3, PCM, uncompressed and so on.
    For you to encode it to a format your system have support for, you first need to find out what audio has been used, and then install the correct codec so you can decode it. But then you would be able to play the sound so there will be no need to re-encode it!
    Suggest you install the "Kristal Studio Pack" found under the tools section here on http://www.vcdhelp.com
