Hi. I was using the latest version of ffdshow version 2004 October 12. It's the only codec I use and it plays everything. But, I just downloaded a trial version of InterVideo WinDVD 6 because I was following this audio encoding guide and it needs to use InterVideo's filters in Graphedit in order to work. When I try to open up an XviD in VdubMOD, an error pops up saying that it needs VFW. I do have VFW enabled for XviD. I restarted the computer and it still says that. In GSpot, I noticed that the video codec it's using is the InterVideo MPEG4 Video Decoder. Is there any way to switch back to FFDSHOW for all videos? I checked in WinDVD's preferences and I did not see any option to do that. If I uninstall WinDVD, its filters will also be deleted and I need the filters in order to do the audio encoding.

You need to go into ffdshow's settings and change it there.

I did set it. I went into ffdshow settings and enabled XviD. It didn't work. I went into the VFW Config and enabled XviD. It didn't work. The videos are playable in the players, but it won't open like they're supposed to in VdubMOD. That's the problem. If you must know, here's my settings:

    FFDSHOW Configuration:
    XviD - libavcodec
    DivX 3 - libavcodec
    DivX 4 - libavcodec
    DivX 5 - libavcodec
    FVFW,FFDS - disabled

    VFW Configuration:
    Encoder: MPEG 4
    FOURCC: XVID
    Decoder:
    XviD - libavcodec
    FVFW,FFDS - libavcodec

And here is the error message I got when opening these XviD files in VdubMOD:

Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'XVID' (unknown). VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this video.
