  1. I've been using TMPGEnc and the "one disc vcd" thing for quite a while ( where you alter the bit rate to fit more time into a single disc) and just found out that for a strange reason it does NOT work when encoding to PAL system, only NTSC... anyone knows why?

It has always worked fine in PAL for me. I would suggest that either your TV or DVD Player can't handle PAL ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. I know there's a bug with the TMPGEnc PLUS 2.59.47.155 version and it does not do one disc VCDs, but I'm using TMPGEnc Plus-2.521.58.169 and NTSC is fine, PAL is not. Which version do you use?

  5. I'm encoding a sample right now with this same version you use, just downloaded from their site, to test it.

Regarding what you said about DVD/TV compatibility, no it's not it, my DVD plays PAL. What I was trying to say is that the disc is supposed to be "smaller" in MBytes and it turns out as a regular VCD (as if I had encoded it standard - 1150kbps)

    Yep, I know

What you do is you lower the bitrate so it becomes an XVCD, and you customise it so that you can get more than the standard 80 minutes. The key is to make sure you choose MPEG-1 VideoCD (Non-standard) as the stream type in the system tab of the settings.

What do you mean by "it doesn't work" ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

  7. Mpeg file 850 kbps NTSC ends up 5,57 Mbytes

Mpeg file 850 kbps PAL indicates that will end up 5,57 but ends up 7,16 Mbytes, just as if I had encoded standard (1150 kbps)

    sounds likely.

  10. You're right, it worked. God, this was stupid, considering I had already made the "one disc vcd ntsc" template and made sure this setting was selected. This time around I just completely forgot about this "detail".

Well, since I already made a fool of myself I hope this helps someone with the same mind-glitch.

    Thanks!
