  1. Ok I am converting divx to vcd and was wondering what I should do in TMPGEnc 12a to get the absolute best quality. Can anyone tell me what to check and what to choose for all the options? Thanks.

First of all, ditch TMPGENc 12a and get 2.01, its much faster and has better quality. Goto Settings and select whatever bitrate you want (the higher, the better, but also has higher CD consumption). Now encode!
BTW Is your DivX good quality? Coz if it isn't you can't improve the quality of your VCD.

I got this one first but everytime I try to load the divx into it I get "... cannot be opened or is unsupported" where with 12a I can actually make VCDs. Why won't the new one work for me?

  4. Uninstalled Divx 4 codec and install Divx 3.11 codec and now TMPGEnc 2.01 opens up divx just fine. Weird.
