  3. DO NOT USE AVI2VCD
    It Royally sucks ass.

Now in TMPGenc is what EVERYONE who comes here should be using.

Anyway- If you are smart enough to know the reason why it is freezing but audio still playing is cause you have a bad frame.
If you already knew that, let me tell you what u can do to fix that WITHOUT RE-ENCODING!!
go here- http://members.tripod.com/dvdown once u are there, go to conversion tools on left. go down a bit til u get to filters.
    You want the antifreeze filter

  4. Sean, this is not quite correct: biochemist will have to reencode again because his mpg1-file simply does not contain the missing video, whereas the bad frame is in the avi-file.

Of course, the antifreeze filter will be helpful when he converts from avi to mpeg again because it will allow the whole avi to be encoded. By the way, I have the impression that DivX 4.11 handles bad frames quite well, so that might be an alternative to antifreeze.

  5. you know i dont know bout divx 4.11 handling it on its own

Reason is cuz you may have dl like a package deal that may have came with the antifreeze filter and you just didnt know it cuz it was in just 1 setup prog

  6. I downloaded all versions of Divx 4 from the official webpage, so I doubt that something else was in the package. Perhaps antifreeze got installed with something else and I didn't notice it. Are you sure that it can't be Divx 4.x that manages to get past the bad frames?
