Hello!
I'm using WinAvi to convert Divx to .vob (dvd) files. Now I have 1 .avi file which won't demux correct because of 1 second of mpeg artifacts in the movie; it's corrupted so the program crashes right on that spot.
The meaning was to import the from WinAvi resulting .vob file into DVD-lab which will be de-muxed into a .mpv and a .ac3 file. I managed to get only one succes with WinAvi but strange enough the audio stream didn't exist in the resulting .vob file. I managed to rip the audio stream from the original .avi (divx) file to a .wav file but now I have one small problem:
How can I convert this file to the exact same .AC3 format DVD-lab uses?
I have tried some options but each time the resulting .ac3 file was not in the correct format. DVD-lab would import it and add it to the videostream but no audio was audible during playback. DVD-lab also imports .wav, .raw and .mp2 streams but the same result, they just won't be audible in the compiled result!?!! When remuxing with another .AC3 file (from another movie) which DVD-lab has made the audio works correctly so it's using his own standard/format!
Long story but I hope it's clear.
thanx in advance! Porto
EDIT: N/M.... Seems that FFMPEG creates the right format! Also found out that adding a audiostream to a movie which is in .vob format inside DVD-lab won't play ANYWAY!I'm now converting the no-audio .vob file with Tmpgenc to a .m2v file which make a valid videostream with working audiostream!

Hi!
that's true but that takes way more time. The file I encoded yesterday took 1 hour and 45 minutes to encode to m2v format. Converting from .avi to .vob with WinAvi takes about 15 minutes (with audio!) and demuxing in DVD-lab of the .vob file takes about 3 minutes so it's less time consuming but, indeed, less efficient also.
But it seems my problem is solved.
