  1. Hi all,

Newbie here and first post after reading this forum for a while.

I want to backup one DVD I have. I got latest version of dvddecrypter and dvdshrink.

When I select all files, the movie is backuped to the HDD and dvd shrink can process the files.

But when I select main movie + ifo, dvdshrink can't open anymore what has been copied to ths HDD. I found one guide telling that VIDEO_TS.IFO, BUP and VOB must also be selected, but even if I do that, dvd shrink still complains saying that for instance VOB_01_0.VOB cannot be opened.

What I am doing wrong ?

    Thanks in adavnce.

In order for DVDShrink to work properly every time, you need to rip every file from the DVD first.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Also why in the world are you ripping first when DVD Shrink will do that for you? Only in some cases will ripping with decryter help as with will some problematic DVDs that shrink doesn't like for whatever reason.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

  5. bobdeplage,
After ripping the movie to the HD,open DVD Shrink and click on the "Re-author" button(upper-right corner) and then open your file from there.
Don't use the "Open File" button.
There is a guide for DVD Shrink. Read it and follow the steps carefully and you shouldn't have any problem.

    Hope this help.

Check my guide here this is guaranteed to work as I use this method myself for full DVD or just movie backup, I know the error you mean with DVD Shrink, but this guide covers all you need and also you don't need any commercial software

It uses nothing but DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink

    Hi,

Yes, this is the guide I read were I learned that I have to select more files
when chosing main files in dvd decrypter. However, I did not pay attention
    to choose re-author in dvdshrink.

    Thanks.
