A while back I had put together a stack of CDs for the car for my boring commutes. You know, MP3s I had accumulated over the years and a bunch of new ones. I had made lists of favorite songs and whenever I thought of a new favorite from my past I'd scribble it down.
It took months, but I finally got together about 12 or 14 CDs worth that now remains in my car and gets played constantly.
I thought I had gotten all the good ones ...until the other day. I overheard this one playing and I freaked. I love this song, and somehow it got overlooked and never transferred. So I got the MP3.![]()
It's a one-hit wonder band who had this single biggie in the early '80s. It's an American band and I won't mention the title or artist. PM me if you can guess. This song was still relatively obscure even though it hit it fairly big ...briefly. It's a good song for the car![]()
See if you can guess. I trimmed it down ...don't want to post warez here![]()

Doesn't invalidate his other hit(s). There are some places in this world that won't play Marilyn Manson or Guns & Roses. Guess you'll have to deal with it.Originally Posted by Capmaster

I spent my whole life dealing with it. Got it down to a science, and all you have is this little thread. I think got the better end of the deal.

I have the song on one of those compilation 80's discs, that has a ton of different artists. The funny thing is it's title states the songs are all 1-Hit Wonders. I know several of the artists had other billboard hits, but they never made it into the top 10. a lot of good songs though.

Wow, maybe THIS was the song playing on the radio when it all happened!! think of that next time you hear it in your car...Originally Posted by Capmaster

Well now every time I hear it I'll think of that empty space and things to comeOriginally Posted by flan

I agree with Tommyknocker on this one, Cap - not a one hit wonder.
And I'd run for the hills if I were you when Yoda sees this thread - he's gonna slug ya one for not knowing one of the other hits that Weird Al did a parody of
BTW, yours is a live version - I have the original studio track. -

This is my favourite song at the moment. I pump it whenever I pull up at the traffic lights, its a classic.
See if you can guess it.

I still remember a children's talent show I was invented to, and whatever you may want to say about today's teens, I saw two of them steal the show with this number.Originally Posted by pacmania_2001Hello.

I didn't get to guess, the name came right up in RealPlayer.

Easy one. 'nuff said. This song got quite a lot of airplay (I mean the song the original topic is about) and was easy to recognize without using Google.
As far as them being a one hit wonder, they'd (the band) probably argue with that - but to me, they are, if only in the sense that they they didn't have more than one or two "big" hits before they disappeared.Ethernet (n): something used to catch the etherbunny
