  1. i have a AVI decompress, but its out dated. what is the best AVI decompress and were can i get it?

  3. I've never used AVI Decompress but it looks like you can get the latest version here:

    VirtualDub is free and it has most of the same functionality.

    this is what the progam looks like. i would use this and it would make a mpeg and i would not have to use VirtualDub. all i do is open my file and press decompress. then open this mpeg file in TMPGEnc then i would convert it to vcd. i would not have to worry about the audio being off. all i want to know is there a updated AVI decompress out, because i had this one for along time

  5. I did a little searching and saw that AVI2VCD includes AVI Audio Decompressor which appear to be the program you're talking about.

    1.4 seems to be the latest release.

    I suppose VirtualDub requires a few more clicks but it can do the same thing. Open the AVI file, select Audio -> Full Processing Mode, the File -> Save WAV.
