Should I buy Nero 6 or 5.5, or use DVDDecriptor or ImgTools free. I need a good prog for buring DVD-Video for clients. I've found Nero 6 and Nero 5.5 for about $5-10. Are these the right ones, or should I buy from the nero website and pay $50? Any suggestions would be great...thanks.

nero does alot more that just burn dvd's. its been worth itself 10 times over for me. as far as the cheap copy's, as long as they are all good yeah get nero 6. but be careful of who you buy from. you could just go down to your local store 8)

I bought the whole Nero 6 suite and was disappointed at how buggy the Burning ROM app was, so I went back to ver. 5.5.10.xx which I'll stick with.
I've got a little registry hack that'll show the real-time burning speed in the Nero screen if anyone's interested. It's handy to watch when your 8X burner "shifts gears"It works with Nero Burning ROM 5 and 6:
Start Regedit via 'Start, Run, Regedit'. The Registry Editor will be started. Now go to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Recorder':
Once there double click or open into the folder (Recorder)
Next search for the DWORD 'ShowSingleRecorderSpeed' and right click or double click on it and select 'Modify'
Now change the the value 0 zero to 1 in (Value data) remember the value was 0 zero just in case it does not work for you so you can always change back later!. Press ok.
Close registry might be a good idea to reboot pc at this stage.
Once pc up and running select Nero. DO your business with it and watch for the real time burning speed

I use Nero Vision Express 2 quite frequently. It opens video files that Womble MPEG Video Wizard 2003 shokes on ...especially different flavors of AVI. It also has a very nice user interface for exporting movies in whatever format, with all options tweakable to a higher degree than many apps. -
OK. I just bought NeroBruning ROM 5.5, for 12 bucks. Hopefully this will solve the problem. From what I've read, this program seems like a good thing to try, for 12 bucks, shouldn't be that big of a loss...thanks for the reply.
