  1. I am thinking of doing a fresh install of my OS. I have about two years of Norton Internet Security and Norton Ghost Updates. I would really hate to have to re-do two years of updates with a dial-up modem.

If I backup the Program Folder contents for these two programs could I, after reintalling the Norton Programs, paste the content from the backup into the new folders? When it asks if I want to replace the current files and click 'Yes to All' will the programs work and will the updates work?
If it works, don't fix it.

You won't really be doing 2 years worth of updates. It may take a little while and a few reboots but it's not like you're downloading every update that came out since that version of NIS was released. I wouldn't recommend trying to 'patch' the updates.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

  3. You're probably right, I suppose some of the updates were updates of previous updates, therefore I would only need the most current. I guess it's like program updates, you can go straight from version a to d without having to update to version b and c first. Makes sense. Thanks.
