  1. I was wondering if anyone has developed an XP comatible version of WinLinux:
    http://www.winlinux.net/
or something comperable. I already tried topologilinux and wasn' that impressed because it seemed impossible to do networking. I would like a distro that has a bunch of video-editing software installed with it, but I don't want to repartition my hdd so it would have to be either a live-cd or something like topologilinux or WinLinux. Ideas?
I did find something like this here:
    http://www.mediainlinux.org/
but the download always cuts out after only part of the download.
    Thanks,
    Garibaldi

  6. Well, I guess that I cannot use that, unless there is a way to run it in XP Home:
(Windows Services for UNIX 3.5 does not work with Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows XP Home Edition, Windows NTŪ Workstation, or Windows NT Server.)
    Any other ideas?

  7. Ummm, why would you want to run Services for UNIX in the first place?

Reading your post, sounds to me like you want a verion of Linux to run on top of XP, or did I miss read your post?

If so, I would suggest using a main stream distro with VMWare or Virtual PC

BTW, thanks for the Mediain linux link
tgpo famous MAC commercial, You be the judge?

Your right, I would want a distro to run ontop of windows or make an image file like Topologilinux. I just tried topo 5 but it never askes me for the 2nd disk and I cannot get booted up all the way.

As far as VMWare or Virtual PC, I am looking for something free.

The "Mediain linux link" do you mean media linux? If so, how did you successfully download it? I have tried several times and it just cuts out partway through it??!!
