I tried out the 40000 for about a month. It's appears to be identical to the 9911 without the TBC/NR function. The picture is very similar to the 9911 with the TBC/NR turned off. The 40000's picture is probably as different from the 9911 as one 9911 is to another 9911. I posted about this same topic in another thread. If you don't need the DVHS stuff, I'd just get a 9911 and save some money.
