I have a 600Mhz computer that I am going to use as my server to dial out for my home network. I have everything setup and almost working. here's the trouble> On the server I use netzero's program to access the internet, and as long as I am on, the other computers can get on as well. But if the server is not on the internet, and I want to get on with another computer I cant. On the server I shared the folder Netzero is in and, accessed it from another computer, but it kept coming up that the copy of netzero was corrupted, even though it is not! Im now at a loss.
    Thanks in advance.

  2. Just use Windows own Internet connection sharing facility, It works fine for dial up.

ICS is what I use on the server that runs XP pro. It can dial out fine through netzero's own window. but when I go through My Network connections and click on Netzero the number is always 2222, so I change it to the correct number to dial out and it connects but then says the username and password are invalid. But I know they are right? Thanks for any response.

  4. I don't know anything about Netzero, but simply using Windows Dial up networking for your net connection and setting up ICS correctly nothing else should be needed. Any machine set up this way should cause the machine with the modem to dial-out to your ISP as soon as an internet connection attempt is made. Only thing to watch out for is that machines are set up to ask the user before making a connection and that the line is dropped (call cleared) when the connection is dropped. Of course this is not so much of an issues if you are on a flat rate and have a dedicated line for the internet! (something I didn't have when I was doing this on dial up )
