Hi all, have tried but cannot find an answer for this.

There are plenty of DVD-VCD converters around but I want to do it the other way round. Or rather, I want to take video from a VCD and put it onto my PC for editing.

Loading a VCD I find that there are no mpegs on there. The whole video file seems to be in a 'DAT' file???

Is there any way of ripping this as an mpeg back onto my pc?

    Right-click, rename.

    avseq.dat becomes mydirtyxxxpr0nvcd.mpg

    One step. Booyah!

vcdgear or isobuster. just renaming it could cause problems when you try and edit it.
