convert the audio separate using for example ffmpeggui, open the avi, choose mp2, 44khz and 224 kbit. after multiplex/join the converted mpg with the new audio using tmpgenc, under file->mpeg tools->simple multiplexer
or extract the audio to wav and use it in tmpgenc when you convert

i have no idea how to do any of those, isn't there any thing that can covert both video and audio at the same time?

i figure it out
and now my 698 mb avi file comes out 608mb mpeg and burn and plays great on my dvd player

jyn999: PLEASE stop using the bbcode url for urls....
...it doesn't shrink the longs urls...and no I can't fix it so it does.
