I have some MOV's that I would like to edit and output to DVD.
They are all listed as having a frame rate of 30 fps. In the end I need 29.97 for DVD output.
I have been using Quicktime Pro to export the MOV to uncompressed AVI. I am trying to make this as lossless as possible (HuffyUV isn't an option in QT). Rather than worry about converting it to 29.97 fps during encoding, I have been letting Quicktime pro export it at 29.97 fps.
Would Quicktime use a standard 30 - 29.97 fps frame drop (you know 2 frames every min except the 10th min) or something non-standard? Is there anything I should be worried about?
I am most concerned with quality and synchronization. I plan on using TMPGEnc Plus to encode the uncompressed AVI to DVD compliant MPV+MP2.
If I wait to have TMPGEnc Plus change the frame rate to 29.97 during encoding it could go out of sync with the audio.

If anyone is wondering, letting Quicktime do the fps conversion from 30 fps to 29.97 seemed to work fine. There were no sync or quality issues I could detect on my Computer or TV.
In the end I actually found a better version of the videos in XVID which resulted in a higher quality output.
