Hi Baldrick / Anyone,
Is there an easy way of viewing a profile from scratch, that I'm missing?
Say I'm at the homepage (or anywhere else - not in a forum) and I want to view someone's profile. My current method is to do an advanced search for their name only and then click on the "Profile" button next to any one of their posts in any thread.
If there's an easier way, what is it? If there isn't, would you consider having some easy way of viewing someone's profile?
Ta, Daamon.

There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

Short of searching for them I don't see how it could be faster, at some point your going to have to do a search. There's 90,000 registered users.

Hi thecoalman,
I was thinking of something along the lines of a dedicated "View Profile" field on an appropriate page / pages (say, the "Forum Index" page?) where you can type in the profile (wildcards accepted) and it'll return the exact and / or similar matches that can then be clicked on to view the profile.
As you say, still involving a search, but quicker / less "painful"...There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

I can't speak for Baldrick but as a site owner I can tell you that would be occupying too much valuable space and wouldn't be justified for the amount of use it's going to get. There's very few people that are going to be searching for a specific user.

Yeah - I'm guilty of thinking from the user's perspective, not the site host's... Still - I figure it's always worth asking... I don't mind a "No" if it's reasonably justified.
This is where Baldrick comes in with: "No"

You could put
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/search.php?search_author=username
into your favorites, then change the username to whatever you need it to be. This is effectively the same as doing a forum search but might be a bit quicker.
Either that or visit
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/memberlist.php
and find the member. If in doubt, Google it. -
I just looked, the newest version of this board which is in bevelopement will support that feature.

@jimmalenko - The favourites idea is better - I hadn't thought of that, but is OK only if I know the full spelling.
Where's the link for the member list? I've double checked on the "Forum Index" (as the URL you posted would suggest) and can't see it there...
@thecoalman - Ah right - Is that available to anyone? What's the URL? Or do you have special privileges? There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

https://www.videohelp.com/forum/memberlist.php not much help there, there's no way to search it.
The new version in developement is not here..... Doesn't have anything to do with videohelp unless Baldrick uses it when it becomes available.

Thanks coalman...
