Hello,
I was thinking maybe we could use an availibility indicator next to our profiles. That we could post whether we're actively online, or out of the office, away from the computer, etc... This could be useful for those seeking immediate assistance. Since just having the active members listed in the forum index doesn't always mean there available. Also, we could add "on vacation", "sleeping", or other useful indicators for how long we'll be away.
Just a suggestion![]()
Kevin
--Keep up the good work Baldrick! Also, this could be done with the location tab but people seem to like this for their permanent location/country--

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

Baldrick will probably ban me for posting this but there's hundreds of modifications that can be made to this forum. I set one up on my site and have been looking around. Most of the real popular ones are already on here.
This are just the ones that are kind of "official"..... http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=15 -
Yoda,
Just post your home and work numbers for us just in case your not online....
We all know that your "job" keeps you quite busy and this way we could always ring your desk....

I think it is a fair enough suggestion.

I don't think a notification bar or whatever it is necessary as there are some here WHO NEVER LEAVE
You know who you are....

Things like this start out as a good idea but deteriorate after time. I agree in theory, but unfortunately the reality of "who's in" programs and the like is that it takes too much time and effort for the majority of people to continually adjust their status. There would be some that are diligent, but many who wouldn't bother with it.
If in doubt, Google it. -
It sounds like a good idea; However, I am always logged in even if I am not at the site so it would not be accurate.

Though jimmalenko's probably right, only us obsessive people would keep it current.
But it would be nice to have an indicator of when a person might return (see - Teegee420).
