  1. Dear Experts:

I have some problem play back avi clips. I have K-lite codec pack installed, however, the avi movies I playback are in very very low volume.

I am sure this is not my hearing problem, because clips in other format are fine. well, not all avi have the same problem.

Just for some of avi's I have to turn the volume way up to hear the conversation. What could be the cause and how to repair ?

    Please help !
    Thank you very much

  2. Check the settings of your AC3 codec. It has it's own volume control that is often set very low.

It depends on which one you have installed. For the one I have installed now, Vigovsky Alexander's AC3Filter v0.70b, it's Start, All Programs, AC3Filter, AC3Filter Config.

If you can't find anything like that try: Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, Hardware, Audio Codecs, Properties, Properties, select the AC3 filter you have installed, Properties, Settings.

  6. Try changing the "Master" gain under the "Gain" section near the center of the Main page of the dialog. I have it at +20 dB:
