Hi all!
Is there any trick to extract Hi8 datecodes to subtitiles? My Hi8 cam (Sony CCD-TR845E) certainly writes them to tape (I'm able to turn them on/off during playback). I'd like to see something similar to DV_Datecode program for DV AVIs.
I tried AD passthrough on DV cam (Sony DCR-TRV33) and also on Digital8 cam (Sony CCD-TRV520), but it didn't work.
Many thanks in advance and keep up good work!!!
Jozef.

Couldn't you just use a subtitle in the same format?
Hello. -
Thank you for your prompt reply Tommyknocker!
I don't have a problem with subtitle processing, but with datecodes extraction to subtitles. I'm sorry for not to be specific enough.
I'm able to capture datecodes "burned" into captured video (using Virtual VCR and MSI GeForce 4200 VTD with video-in), but I'm not able to process these "burned" images. With DV, I'm able to exctract datecodes from AVI (NOT "burned" in video!) and process them as subtitle (text) files.
Ideal would be to get an AVI without "burned" datecodes with datecodes written in AVI metadata, which I could process using DV_Datecode utility.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
Jozef.
