  1. Hello,

I just set up my durabrand home theatre in a box from Wal-Mart. I was just wondering if i can turn the surround sound off and just listen to the audio through the TV??? Does anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks

    Hello,

Did you turn the volume up on the tv itself??? (not trying to be smartalec but you got to check the basics).

Are you asking if the tv can do virtual surround sound??? You'll have to check the manual for that.

Maybe you could give a little more detail and we could help more.

  3. Sorry for the lack of detail.

I have these speakers and subwoofer hooked up to create surround sound. Now somtimes i dont want the surround sound on and i want the audio just to come out of the tv speakers. Now is there a way to do it, turn the surround sound off and just listen the tv speakers. Does anyone have this brand and knows how to do it?

    Hello,

Um... Just turn off the receiver and use the tv as if you had no surround sound (use the tv remote). That's my suggestion.

Chances are you are running the DVD player directly to the receiver with only the receivers Video out (or DVD players Video out) reaching the TV. Assuming your TV has component video in, send the audio RCA cables to the TV while keeping the optical cable running to the receiver.

Turn off the receiver, and in the set up mode on the DVD player choose the audio setting of Stereo or Mono or whatever isn't surround.

    Should be fine.
