  1. I have a movie on DVD-R that I want to copy, but the last 30 seconds has errors and the drive gets to 99% when reading then stops. Is there any way to copy the disc or am I out of luck? I have 2 DVD burners, both stop at 99% when reading the disc.

I just did one like this today....however I lost the last "chapter" of the bad DVD. Good thing it was nothing important. I took everything BUT the last chapter with DVDDecrypter set for File Splitting - NONE. Loaded that into Womble MPEG VCR - created one big mpeg file.....then re-authored with TMPGEnc DVD Author....re-inserting my chapters.
The only reason I had to add MPEGVCR to my process was that TDA has reading the wrong file length(hours, minutes, seconds) if I took it straight from DVDDecrypter.

  5. It's a bad spot in the disc itself, checked with CD Speed. One of my DVD players gets to the spot and locks up, the other will play it but with a 5 second or so bad spot. I quit using that brand of discs a long time ago for this reason.
