I feel like I've been experimenting forever to determine which program will give me the best ouput.
My video is recorded on my JVC MiniDV camcorder, transferred to my PC and then burned to DVD.
I've tried Ulead, WinDV, Pinnacle, TmpgEnc and a few other crazy combinations and my best results are as follows:
Capture using Pinnacle v8 in Full Video Capture mode. Then I create my menus, chapters and misc. stuff. Burn directly to disc using Pinnacle and call it a day.
Regardless, burning directly to Pinnacle without rendering elsewhere usually gives me the best output. But, I'm still not happy with the results. Still a little bit grainy especially around the edges.
I'd be curious to hear from others on this forum as to your recommendation to obtain the best picture quality (how do you capture, render & burn). I've been reading about compression ratios, re-rendering, enhancing etc.. and the more I read the more confused I get. I don't want to overcomplicate the process but I would like to achieve slightly better results if possible.
Thanks much.
