Thanks for the info LurkAzusa and averagejoe007.
Too bad you didn't take some pics of your steps during the install of the drainage tube.

I would suggest, after owning the system for 2 months....If you are not mechanically inclined, or do not have a lot of duct tape, and patience....forget it.
I have both and I love the system. It is a pain in the ass to watch sometimes, watching for tangles.
BUT I would recommend it, for the ink savings!
I originally bought the epson r200 new and i was out of ink (or at least 1 cart) in 2 weeks.
Now... 1-2months later i have only used 25% of the ink originnally supplied with the system. However you decide to set it up, it is funky looking.
best of luck everyone. If you want a printing headache, use CIS on your printer! -

Dmagic, just open the little door and use a paper clip to fish out the tube. I drilled a hole in the cap, fed the tube through and clipped it inside the cap, so it won't pull out. Then I velcroed it to the back.

Bodyslide or anybody that know this stuff, got a question for ya
I just my css a couple days ago. I did 2 head cleans from the start and printed that color sheet like 3 times and now printed around35 dvds (give or take a couple). Anyways my black ink is down about 1/4th and my other colors are about 1/5th-1/6th. Is this normal to have 1/4th of your ink gone in a couple days. I was reading here and some other guy said that he has 1/4th ink gone and he had it for 2 months. Did i do anything wronge or this is normal. Let me know thanks.... -
Is this in the ink display or the ink tanks? The display will go down then reset at around 25% left. Or after you leave the printer off, it should reset back to full.
-
Should the ink be that low or, is that normal and also my ink bar on the computer never moves it stays at 100%. (black is all the way on the right of the pic and on the bottem pic
-
I have printed over 100 DVD's so far and mine is down alillte lower than yours are. I have only had to do 1 head cleaning. It looks normal.

Go on, buy this kit, you won't regret it.
I ordered the kit before I got my r300. It has been running now for a couple of months, no problem ( Other than a few minor one's solved using this forum ).
My r300 has never had epson inks in it, I still have them in their sealed packs. Am hanging on to them for a while in case I have to use the Epson warranty. When I am sure the printer is ok will probably sell them on ebay. -
Hi all,
I happened to bump into this forum and reading this CIS. I used to hate injet printers because of the refill costs, and was waiting for a day so something like this (CIS) would come. I needed a printer for printing DVD lables and this forum brought light on to me!!!
As I wanted to do R&D on CIS printing, I did buy a free after rebate R200 printer from Amazon.com when purchased with Digital camera. I then sold the camera and the original Eposn R200 ink cartridges ($50) on ebay.
I then bought the JLW CIS ($95-$50= $45). Install went fine. Now my problems was the routing the tubes and the cartridge holder. The Tubes would keep rubbing on the Printer body and sometimes entangles. This kept me watching the printer while printing was a headache. So i did cut open the top for freeing tubes movement. Also i had to cut the Cartridge holder so that would mount and lock itself.
Now the printer works perfectly smooth, nothing to worry about . Also to keep the tubes held cut and use a UPS(very sticky and good) or fedex packing pouch to keep the tubes perfectly held.
Some talked about evoparation of the ink from Air Vents. What i did was kept the CIS bottles unit in a box covered with thermal protection foam and made a small breathing opening on the box.
I have some picture i took on my version R200 which i thought i must share to all others who have supported me by this forum

Tip: To cut open on R200 take a stationary knife and heat it and cut it in slow steps. -
Hey guys I need your help.
My light Magenta is no longer printing. I've tried the head cleaning several times. I let the printer sit a day with no luck. I removed the cart and put it back, no luck. Everything was fine until I turned the printer off the other day. I needed to print one more thing so I turned it back on. That was the when that ink was not working anymore.
I don't think ink is being pulled thru the light magenta because I think I can see a small air bubble that never moves. What can I do to fix the problem? -
In this situation I would:-
1. Print a nozzle check
2. Print a 6 colour purge test
3. Tip the ink containers on their side to expel any air ( & then back upright of course )
4. Run another cleaning cycle
5 Repeat 1/2/3
This is just what I would do if I had this problem. -
Yeah, it's done!!!!
One thing though, im guessing this system is gravity fed ?
None of the photo's anyone has posted show it actually hooked up or running, not far enough away to see where they have the tanks during operation.
