I see JLW purchased this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=46732&item=3857877118 on 12/6. Maybe he's actually going to do this....

I have asked him twice. The answer was the same: it's coming soon. I believe he's going to do it. Of course it will not be a short process. You will have to print a specific file in a specific way, using your favorite paper. You will have to send these pictures somewhere in Hong kong, etc. I think he will mass mail his instructions when he's ready to do so. We'll see.

  3. Anyone know how this unit compares to the one at ezinkjets.com or the one at inkrepublic? Both are way cheaper than this one.
    Quote Quote
  4. the one from ezinkjets is cheaper by $30, however there is no feedback on the product anywhere. Inkrepublic sells one for $170 so I don't see how that is cheaper.

Heresthe ezinkjets one. They certainly describe it as been pretty good.

I've seen the one from ezinkjets advertised severla places around the net. Looks like the only difference is the way the bottles are designed. From looking at the pictures, I don't think they have the two chambers for pressure regulation. The one I saw at inkrepublic was $220 with ink... not what I consider "way cheaper."

  7. Whats the deal with pressure regulation anyway? I'm most likely going to buy one of these things, but honestly, I'm looking at another vendor with a lower price- but his bottles are not the dual chamber ones- they look the same, but with only 1 chamber... The ink supply lines are at the bottom of the bottles (like the jlw ones), but his do not have that smaller chamber.

Whats the advantage to that? Almost ALL of the CIS systems I've seen DO NOT have that.
Cuban Cigars, Women and Movies.... What a wonderful combination!... I have a web site, and I've seen it... HAVE YOU!?
If you can read this, you do not need glasses

  8. From what I remember.......

If there is too much pressure the carts will leak. With most of the one chamber or bottle systems you have to keep the right amount of ink in them. Too much will cause leakage.

    Update:
Just reset the black in 3 times (three carts worth) and it still is not even at the half way point I figure 8 resets all together, even at 4.95 (generic cart price) that is $39.60 just for the black alone. All 6 would be $237.60 So for $120.00 I'd say that is a great deal, it may be possible to get more, I will keep track and get an exact figure to compare to. Looks like I saved myself over $100.00 plus do not have to haggle around with anything. no effort. lol.
Anyone had to refill the kit yet? Any other figures to go by. Just curious.
    Thanks

  10. I just got the cis, seems to work great! I bought it because of all the recomendations here. I found this forum thru google. This guy does send it fast! ordered it fri night and recieved it wednesday morning!, from china!

Here is a few pics of my setup... ink on the left.
I used duck tape as you see, but function beats form for me. I cut some plastic from a cd cake box to hold up the tubes.

can anyone tell me how to upload a small pic off my comp.?

Upload the picture and type (img)filename.ext(/img) and submit it. You'll see that you can move the image around by using the (img) tag in different places in the text.

NOTE: Replace ( and ) with [ and ]. Damn BBCode...

    e.g.

If you uploaded screenshot.jpg, you'd type (img)screenshot.jpg(/img). No need for the full pathname or anything.

Well, you just have to read the example near the browse button (tag, then filename only, then closing tag):

  15. I have had this puppy for a while now, however im starting to run low on the yellow ink. Any recommendations on where to buy 6 bottles of good quality ink at a decent price, to refill the six chambers?
    Quote Quote
  16. oh ....i bet we better save the original caps when we need to refill!
I wonder what the procedure is for refilling also!

  17. I have just refilled mine. I got it about a month ago. I print about 80-100 dvd lables and covers a week. Not to be misunderstood, thats 80-100 for each.

I learned to leave my printer on all the time now. Turning it off will just waste ink when it starts up.

I have also recently had to cleaned and reset my waste ink pad. I was refilling carts long before I got my CIS so don't think it was caused by it.

If you look at the sellers other auctions you will see he also sells the ink. You can also go to Mainstreet for their plug and play ink.

Remove the air filter caps and add ink there. When the small tank is near full tilt the cis back to allow the ink to flow into the large tank. Repeat till full for all 6 colors. You shouldn't need the rubber stopper when refilling.

**Make sure to don't completely fill the small tank. If you do it will not be enough empty space to tilt the system without putting the rubber stopper on.**

  22. from those ink republic videos, I am supposing you cannot have the top lid closed. can anyone confirm this is the case witht he JLW ones? I remember talking a while ago about the OZMODS one and ppl said you could close the lid. this would be helpful for me since my cat is constantly walking around my printer....

    -redfive

btw, anyone know how the OZMODS shapes up compared to this one?

Look back at my previous post in this forum. My lid can be closed without a problem.

Just an update on my installation of this system on my r300.
Originally I had the inktanks on the left hand side of the printer using the strut as used by 'tonyiws', the setup worked fine & I did a lot of printing this way, but was never happy with the way that the tubing would slap against the top housing when travelling fully to the left. The tanks are now on the right hand side of my printer using the same setup as 'bugande' & 'dmagic1', working perfectly with no wear to the tubing.
Have found that the best settings for the paper that I use (120gm photo inkjet paper) are:- Advanced settings/Epson standard, brightness +5. Using the Epson vivid setting seems to give the magenta a slight pink cast. If you print the six colour purge test using both settings you will see what I mean.
Next job is to fit a waste ink container at the back of the printer. Any tips from anyone that has done this ?

    Yeap,
Me too I have followed bugande and Dmagic.
It is also the suggested installation method by JLW.
    So far so good.

@alexT: stop spamming threads. This thread is about JLW kit, not inkrepublic.
