@madvideos: Did you mean to post those pics with your name and address? Might want to photochop those... As far as printing goes, is the print head moving all the way to the left? In your pics it looks like it might hit the clip on the tubing where it is attached to the front of the printer. If the print head is not moving freely, it won't print anything.

Have you removed the ink tank caps & replaced them with the air intake filters ?

I printed two photos on Epson premium glossy paper (btw, I recommend this paper, it has a professional finish and the price is not bad, compared to Canon, per example).
The results? Compared to the exact same photos printed with genuine inks, I would say that the colors are very good and more importantly: there is no color shift/cast. I have noticed a slight difference in brightness, but nothing to worry about.
RickTheRed, can you scan the two printouts and post them, or is the difference so slight that we wouldn't see it online?

Yep, there were six in the box when you opened it. Two of mine are a loose fit, wonder if it will make any difference to evaporation ?

I used the top narrow part of a bic pen and cut it and wedged a thin peice of toilet paper at the bottom.... Everything is printing ok right now, I will do some more cleaning anf adjusting later. I will also be buying all my inks from jlwsales. I am very pleased with this product. Thanks for you guys help. I will make a short video of installing it tonight and also my redneck fix's I did..lol. Just to show folks how easy this is. The only modification I plan on making is the tubing. Damn near ripped my hand off last night adjusting it when the printer was running. I am using a duct tape fix right now.. works fine.

    Mikesbytes,
I do not have a scanner, but I have a digital camera. I will try to take a picture of both printouts. I will post the result when I'll get home

@madvideos: I have set-up the same way. I've followed the picture on this thread.

    @all owner.
It's my first CIS and when it's printing, I have the feeling that the cart will destroy the ink plastic tubing everytime the cart is moving to the very left. So far so good, but I can't stop watching this thing.

lol, I have the same feeling. I've adjusted the position of the tubes many times to make the least amount of noise possible. But I still pop up the lid and watch it go back and forth. I feel like a dog that's fascinated with such a simple toy.

lol.. me too.. I keep an eye on it just in case. I leave the lid open always now. YES it still prints with the lid open.
The pictures are looking great so far..
It prints as good as the carts I bought from megatoners.com that I paid 395 each for , I got about 75 DVD covers out of the megatoners carts, no complaining about that, it worked out to like 25 bux a complete refill, I still have a drawer of these carts new. Happy with them as well.
As far as the cfs system...
This appears to be right at about 10 bux a refill, anyone done any math on it and have some good stats?

Anyone had to refill the cfs system 3000 yet?
anyone actually have the niagra system or any other brand?

I love being able to print a lot of material so all the help I can get will be appreciated.

  17. the tanks are 100ml correct? How large are the normal epson cartridges.. Im trying to figure out how many refills i get from 1 big tank. Also, should you buy replacement ink from the guy in the auction or is there cheaper/better ink somewhere else?

    the Epson tank are 13ml
    I know what you think.
    You are thinking

Just a gooooooood reason to buy a CIS :P

    @mikebytes:
I have taken a picture not sure this will really help you, but here we go:

Top one is JLW ink, bottom is Epson ink. Same settings for both. In real life, the bottom one looks less dark.

@RickTheRed --- Yeah my prints are a little lighter but still look great. Are you using dye ink or pigment ink from jlw?

    Regular dye ink.
I fear the pigment on a non pigment printer.
    Not sure it will work.
Pigment does not give a better finish, but it will give longer life to your prints. It all depends on how you store and handle your stuff

  21. i contacted jlw about using pigment ink for the r200 and he advised against it

Just in case anybody else was worried like I was.... I don't think the ink levels reset until the level is below 25% and the printer is turned off.

I'm still waiting on jlw to send a replacement chip for one that was defective when I received the kit. On 11/22 he said he would rush one out. On 12/1 he said that he sent it out on 11/25. Still waiting...

    Thanks for the photos

The top one (ie CIS ink) looks better to me, but how do they compare with the origional?

Also, has anyone messed with the settings to tune the R200/210/300/310 to compensate for the ink difference?

The original is a digital picture. Both pictures were printed with the same settings. There is a difference but it does not bother me: I am not a pro photographer. Just a question of getting everything calibrated, what I will not do.

TO ALL OWNERS of JLW KIT :

    The ebay advertises the following:
Bonus: For each purchase of our Ink system, we will custom build 2 printer profit of customer choice of favorite paper. Please use our reference to print out your traget, and mail to us, we will send back by e-mail a professional calibrated printer profile which allow you print the best accurate color photo.

    Anyone has tried something?

@bidefordboy: My tubing setup is stil working great. Like some other people here, I wondering how many back and forth cycles the tubing can handle before it breaks, but this seems to put the least amount of stress/wear on it.

About the custom printer profiles.... I didn't receive any information about it with my kit. Since my prints look great, I haven't been worried about it. Let us know if anybody knows any more or actually gets it done.
