ok nothing is printing.. any suggestions, I am sleepy and it is late, I know I missed something small.. it printed for a minute now it spits out blank paper.
TIA -
I am gonna use the SSC utility and run some power cleaning and such.
-
@madvideos: Did you mean to post those pics with your name and address? Might want to photochop those... As far as printing goes, is the print head moving all the way to the left? In your pics it looks like it might hit the clip on the tubing where it is attached to the front of the printer. If the print head is not moving freely, it won't print anything.

Have you removed the ink tank caps & replaced them with the air intake filters ?
-
ahhhh .. lol .. the filters is where I went wrong. Thanks man I will try that. I was quite blasted last night. lmao

I used the top narrow part of a bic pen and cut it and wedged a thin peice of toilet paper at the bottom.... Everything is printing ok right now, I will do some more cleaning anf adjusting later. I will also be buying all my inks from jlwsales. I am very pleased with this product. Thanks for you guys help. I will make a short video of installing it tonight and also my redneck fix's I did..lol. Just to show folks how easy this is. The only modification I plan on making is the tubing. Damn near ripped my hand off last night adjusting it when the printer was running. I am using a duct tape fix right now.. works fine.

oh I only had 5 air filters, it IS possible I dropped one.. my computer room is very messy.. no luck finding it... heh hee.

@madvideos: I have set-up the same way. I've followed the picture on this thread.
@all owner.
It's my first CIS and when it's printing, I have the feeling that the cart will destroy the ink plastic tubing everytime the cart is moving to the very left. So far so good, but I can't stop watching this thing. -

The pictures are looking great so far..
It prints as good as the carts I bought from megatoners.com that I paid 395 each for , I got about 75 DVD covers out of the megatoners carts, no complaining about that, it worked out to like 25 bux a complete refill, I still have a drawer of these carts new. Happy with them as well.
As far as the cfs system...
This appears to be right at about 10 bux a refill, anyone done any math on it and have some good stats?
Anyone had to refill the cfs system 3000 yet?
anyone actually have the niagra system or any other brand?
I love being able to print a lot of material so all the help I can get will be appreciated. -
the tanks are 100ml correct? How large are the normal epson cartridges.. Im trying to figure out how many refills i get from 1 big tank. Also, should you buy replacement ink from the guy in the auction or is there cheaper/better ink somewhere else?
-
@bbock
the Epson tank are 13ml
I know what you think.
You are thinking
Just a gooooooood reason to buy a CIS :P
@mikebytes:
I have taken a picture not sure this will really help you, but here we go:
Top one is JLW ink, bottom is Epson ink. Same settings for both. In real life, the bottom one looks less dark. -
@RickTheRed --- Yeah my prints are a little lighter but still look great. Are you using dye ink or pigment ink from jlw?
-
Regular dye ink.
I fear the pigment on a non pigment printer.
Not sure it will work.
Pigment does not give a better finish, but it will give longer life to your prints. It all depends on how you store and handle your stuff -
i contacted jlw about using pigment ink for the r200 and he advised against it
-
Just in case anybody else was worried like I was.... I don't think the ink levels reset until the level is below 25% and the printer is turned off.
I'm still waiting on jlw to send a replacement chip for one that was defective when I received the kit. On 11/22 he said he would rush one out. On 12/1 he said that he sent it out on 11/25. Still waiting... -
tonyiws.
Is your setup with the cross support still working ok ?. Will be setting mine up this weekend & your setup looks the neatest. -
RickTheRed
Thanks for the photos
The top one (ie CIS ink) looks better to me, but how do they compare with the origional?
Also, has anyone messed with the settings to tune the R200/210/300/310 to compensate for the ink difference?

Here is what JLW said in one of the emails that he sent me:

lol.. I turned off the printer and back on and checked the ink status.. 105 % .. this is sooooooo coooooool. lol
-
@bidefordboy: My tubing setup is stil working great. Like some other people here, I wondering how many back and forth cycles the tubing can handle before it breaks, but this seems to put the least amount of stress/wear on it.
About the custom printer profiles.... I didn't receive any information about it with my kit. Since my prints look great, I haven't been worried about it. Let us know if anybody knows any more or actually gets it done. -
