I bought my new kit from Http://www.printonadime.com and the chipset resets ink levels at 10%...It resets the levels to 90%...according to them the autoreset will do cleanings when the levels are reset to 100% because it sees this as a new cartridge installed...GO FIGURE! ain't that a B****H?and the autoreset chips cost as much as a new cis kit... My new one refuses to do a power-up auto cleaning....COOL!!!!
and I love turning my printer on and off for the hell of it....EPSON!!!!BITE ME!!!
and look at my pics I posted because it is the real way the tubes are to be routed...The pics are from the instructional cd that came with my cis kit and I have it set-up that way...To conclude I can walk away with the top down and the printer printing and not worry about my hoses getting caught...You can see that there won't be a problem just by watching it print with the hoses routed that way and That's crazy mad cooool!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to Macrovision, I got my CIS from JLW Sales routed correctly! This morning, after two months of error free printing, during the course of printing a DVD the tubes got caught under the cartridge and I heard that horrific SCREECH!!!! Oh man, I hate that sound. I tried over and over different configurations and nothing I tried worked. I felt like I was killing my r200 with all that screeching. I had my CIS routed like what is on the 1st page of this thread (I had electrical tape attached to the tubing inside the front of the printer). That seemed to do the trick for 2 months.
This morning when I came across Macrovision's post, I liked how he did his routing, however I didn't fully understand it. Thanks to him (for e-mailing privately to further explain), I got it figured out. Like he stated earlier, it really is quite easy. However, when you don't have instructions or someone telling you how to do it, it can be confusing (at least to some people like myself). Until today, I had not idea what to do with those clips that JLW Sales gives you with the CIS system. For 2 months they've been sitting in the box that the system came in (thank goodness I didn't toss them!).
Well anyway, just for anyone who is looking to route thier CIS system, I strongly recommend doing it this way. It not only is easy but the tubes won't get caught under the cartridges now! The only negative (and a very slight one at that) is that my cover won't close flush. It closes almost all the way down, but raises just a slight bit (I don't imagine I'll ever care, because it's very minor).
Here is a pic...
** By the way, I probably have a little more slack than what you would ideally want. Since taking this picture, I've pulled about a half an inch of the tubing to the right so now there isn't as much slack but just enough so that the cartridges can go all the way to the left (when printing cd/dvd's). -
I also want to re-itterate that JLWSALES carts...I've cracked one open because I had to replace it and I can tell you that it's hollow inside unlike the OEM cart(they have chambers)!!! and JLWSALES don't provide routing instructions!!!!! Why Maybe he thinks were all a bunch of rocket scientist...I don't know....But I started out on this forum for routing instructions and belive it of not that was the reason why I had problems to begin with...Look at my pics at the end of page 20 on this forum...This is proper routing from a real cis manufacturer but I also can tell you that their kit cost about the same but the tanks are smaller...However the autoreset chips are better...But the routing clips are the same as JLWSALES...Later I'll post video clips of the printer in operation so everyone will see that this is proper...Gotta go to a meeting but I'll be back

IF YOU SEE THE PIC ABOVE NOTE THAT i INFORMED NICKELZY THAT THE TUBING IS HANGING A LITTLE TOO MUCH BUT IT IS EASY TO CORRECT...JUST PULL THE TUBING BACK AT THE SMALL CLIP UNTIL IT'S NOT BLOCKING THE CARRAIGE....IF YOU BLOCK THE CARRAIGE MOVEMENT THE PRINTER WILL GIVE YOU AN ERROR MESSAGE....THE INK AND PAPER LIGHTS WILL FLASH AND THE EPSON MONITOR WILL READ "GENERAL ERROR" NOT ONLY DO I HAVE TECHNICAL TRANING (REPAIR) BUT I'VE TAKEN THE R200 APART SO MANY TIMES I CAN DO IT IN MY SLEEP PLUS I'VE SEEN MANY OF THE ERROR MESSAGES.......I ALSO KNOW ABOUT THE WASTE INK PADDING...HOW TO CLEAN IT AND BEWARE...IF YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT'S GEARS DON'T SCREW WITH IT....THE PRINTER ALSO MONITORS THE PARKING OF THE HEAD TO IT AND IF IF DOESN'T MOVE AT THE RIGHT TIME IT WILL GIVE THE "GENERAL ERROR" MESSAGE!!!! GOOD LUCK!

Hey macrovision first thanks for taking the time to post as much as you do about the CIS you got. just curious i see the printonadime one you got runs $70.00 how much was shipping, also what/how much have you printed ie dvds etc etc im just wondering how many full color dvd i can get from the system before i have to refill. After you ordered it how long did it take to get to you?
ps dumb question but did you cis come with ink or did you have tu buy the ink and fill it yourself -
Take a look on page 10 on how i fixed this routing problem. If your printer is out of warranty or close to...., then you can play with doing this. Till today, no a single problem..........

the photo that nickelzy took you can see the center of the "T' routing arm...it's red...this peice is raised if you notice....it's what's stopping the cover from pinching the tubes....the smaller clip is supposed to be on the far right(grey part)to support the tubing so it doesn't bend and stop the ink flow...anyway if the routing arm wasn't supplied then I would improvise like tonywhatever's :P

I got 20 dvd's ta do ta night...printing and every thing...I can't hang no more...deadline is 3pm tommorrow..Anyone knows how to route a life and no I did not get it from ebay or jlwsales

Can some of you give a pro and con of your cis for epson printer. for example
cis for whoever.com
print quality good
small ink tanks
no auto ink level resetchip
etc etc etc
Reason i ask is cause im trying to figure out which one to get
if i have it right printonadime ink tanks are small, but have the reset ink level feature
jlwsales tanks are large but do they need to be primed like the prinonadime ones? -
Just a follow up from my pic above, after pulling the tubes more to the right, my routing looks like:
And I agree 100% with macrovision; if you have the clips like I have shown in the picture (which are included with CIS systems purchased though JLW Sales as well as some other suppliers), why configure it any other way? What is shown above is how it was intended to be routed and more importantly, it works perfectly!
By the way, the white pieces on the ink hose is just tape. With all of my earlier problems (before configuring the routing like above), the hoses got split in two spots which is why I taped them together so that they don't flap around while printing. -
the jlwsales kit comes ready to use....primed and everything but the autoreset chips are gonna reset to 100% and the printer will do a cleaning so that you can run out of epson ink faster and buy more...make epson richer...it will continue to do this until you reach about 90% inklevels...unless you use the automatic ink freezer in the ssc utility program...you must power on your computer before powering up the printer.....The only con for the http://www.printonadime.com cis kit is that the tanks are only 30ml....The kit fits in my army jacket pockets along with my cigarettes

Im gonna go for it i purchased the JLWsales one from ebay today. Anything i should be aware of or tips for installing it please let me know. Also whats the deal with the ink waste tube? Does the JLWSALE cis come with it. Any detailed instructions or precautions. Thank for the info guys

///m - thanks for that post a while back outlining how to unclogg the heads, ill give it a try. before reading it i emailed jlwsales and he is sending me an 'unclogging kit' that works as follows, and i quote "The kit is a very simple device, it had a syringe, a tube and a special cleaning solution (100ml). you load 5 ml of solution into the syringe, You remove the cartridge and pump back and forward the cleaning solution via a connection tube and the syringe. This emulated a washing action the clean off dried ink in the channel or print head. It will not fix ALL clog problem, but it work 80% of time in serious clog head situation". $12+$5 shipping, i let you guys know if it works out

so that you can run out of epson ink faster and buy more...make epson richer...Fast, Cheap, Good: Choose any two.
-
When I stated "so we can buy more epson ink, make epson richer" I meant it as a joke since we're using CIS kits...But in all accounts if we were using carts we'd be F**ked

I Did my 20 Ritek hub-printables with the printonadime and the colors were screwy..I don't know if it's because I used generic dye-ink but It looked fine at the beginning...anyway I didn't drain the "baby"tanks (30ml) But I think I'll get about 50 DVD's before having to refill....I did the same about a month ago with the jlwsales CIS and I printed 50...It took about a fifth of an inch from the top of the tanks...If your not good at math...that's very little ink...about 1ml leaving 99ml per tank......I can't wait to finish modding my jlwsales tanks...I might buy another printonadime cis just for the parts!!!!!!!
Because I liked when I did the 50 DVD's and hardly used ink...I'm hurting now...Damn printer ran over the tubing of my jlwsales cis because I followed the crappy(wrong) insallation instructions that came with the kit and now I know (nickelzy and My earlier post on this page) what the clips are for...I got the jlwsales instructions and I might post his (wrong ) Instructions just so we all will KNOW!!!!!!
and the autoreset chips cost $15 each but a spare printonadime kit goes for $70...(Just for the parts)...I'll save $20 plus whatever the empty carts cost and I'll have extra tubing :P
-
i talked to the printonadime guy via email he said just like you told me macro that the tanks are 30ml he said 70 ml tanks are coming soon
-
I can't wait but the 70ml tanks are still smaller than the 100ml JLWSALES tanks....I'm still gonna mod my old jlwsales tanks with a spare kit I'll buy from printonadime...The autoreset chips rock but they're so expensive....$90 for all six and then I'll need to buy blank spongeless carts...and thats another $90....I'll buy the spare kit for $80 and save the rest of my money for ink!!!! Thanks ULTRAMAN36

Umm question im some of the pictures i noticed the grey bracket is gone and some other picture some people didnt remove the grey bracket(which holds the ink cartridge in. im waiting for my JLWsales cis. Do i need to remove this? Dont forget any of you with this same one let me know any adjustment i should make vs the instructions
-
I left mine on. I had to cut a small portion of the plastic that is near the black ink tank. So that the clip that goes on the cartridges would fit snuggly.
-
You don't need the grey bracket and you probably will have to take it off...the cover won't close properly because the ink input connectors are too big...Don't worry,Taking it off won't cause you any woes....I like This....Screw EPSON!!!!! :P
-
I popped mine off, it was fairly simple. My CIS system runs smoothly.Remember the carts snap in already.
-
I printed excellent quality photos using premium glossy photo paper with the cis and r200 printer....in the epson cd program pick printer settings, then pick advanced pick best photo and photo enhance, sharpness needs to be set on hard....It prints very good photos providing you didn't take the picture with a 200k digital camera you got from the drug store
-
Sorry about that ultraman...I'm in newyork and I've got one of those runaround lives...I use the +1 setting and I might use the photo setting...not best photo. I can tell you now I see very little difference and I've used almost all settings in the epson print cd program for dvd's....It makes a difference on photo paper but I can't see a difference on dvd's except for the first screen with the slider that goes up to +3.....+3 comes out too dark(heavy on the ink supply) 0 comes out regular....I use +1.(This screen pops up when you choose to print) O.K. Now I gotta run around all day....AGAIN!!!? I Need a vacation!!!!!!!
Is what we learn indeed a fact, or someones opinon? -
like This....Screw EPSON!!!!!
I love Epson, they make by far the best photo printers. Their Ink philosophy is another matter although other companies are following along the same lines. Chipped carts will be here to stay I'm afraid. So far Cannon seems to still be a friend to refilling. I just don't think it can live up to the Epson photo quality
VBythe way, I highly recomend Ilford's "Printasia" papers. They come in Glossy ( As good as Epson Premium Glossy but at almost 1/2 the price ) and Pearl. It prints perfectly with Epson inks or replacement inks such as Megatoners. It works perfect with the CIS. Comp USA carries it.No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
Hey i just got my Cis from Jlwsales that was fast as hell once i hook it up ill let you all know how it goes. ps how do i stop it from wasting ink again. i remember someone say that when it does something a clean cycle it wastes ink?
-
I said Screw epson because they are greedy...Just In case you don't know they are a bunch of blood suckers and they don't make the best photo printers...I'm a serviceman and guess what...The printhead isn't removable so when it gets clogged you won't be able to do anything about it...the canon pixma IP3000 has a removable printhead...you can soak it in cleaning solution or replace it! Epson holds the patent on inkjet printers with a cd/dvd tray so the canon IP3000 cd/dvd tray is disabled...The european canon IP3000 has the cd/dvd functionality and the epson models get particles from paper (regular and photo) and when the particles mix with the ink its like flour mixed with water ....what do you get when you mix flour and water? Ever did that in art class in school? SCREW EPSON....My HP does better photo's!!!!!!!!!!
