  1. I've been looking all around for those test signals (the ones with all the lines and numbers, Indian head, etc) on VHS. I can't find any. I've seen them on DVD but what I really want to do is look at the quality of my
    (S)VHS VCRs and tuner card. Do these test patterns exist on VHS?

    you mean you want a tape of test patterns ? there are many - go to broadcastsupply , they should have some or just make your own ...

    i also have a reference test dvd that i made (it is really good and includes both dvd and hdtv) that i could put on tape.

    You're probably better off using color bars. I could not find the Test Pattern your talking about either on a tape. So I had to end up making one myself off internet. If you can find a test pattern like that, its precious as gold. Good Luck!
