  1. I am still looking for a program that I can schedule to record from a TV card straight to divx.

I am using a Samsung MM201 PCTV card, but also have a Hauppauge Win TV USB so I can use either really.

I've tried the Samsung card in virtual dub, capturing straight to Divx with no problams at all.

The reason I want to schedule recordings straight to divx is because it will be used in a cctv system, so I want to record for about 3 hours a day and am not too concerned about the quality but want to save hard drive space.

I have tried power VCR (Only does MPEG1/2) Showshifter (Didn't work with either card even tho it said it would and I've tried a program called 'Gotcha' which seems to capture files as .mv2's even though I've specified AVI, plues when you exit the program it forgets all settings and preferneces.

Does anyone know a program that will do the above. Virtual dub is perfect apart from you cannot schedule it unless someone knows a way you can.

    Thanks For your help

  4. Hi, yes it works perfectly. I've used it on a Pentium II System with windows 98 and 256MB RAM.

I was suprised to find there were no problems and no dropped frames during a one hour capture.

Latest XviD is very fast - I capture realtime using max bitrate - (all other options off - Important!) in excellent quality, no dropped frames. Another benefit is the final file size is very small, about 8gb for an average length movie, so it's a lot easy to edit and work with than massive files captured in HuffyUV or even MJpeg.
