How I Clean Unwanted Instruments Off My Samples?

I have samples I want to use, but i need to get rid of certain intruments for example......1 sample i need the vocals off..............another i need drums and guitar off.
I know i cant get rifd of them completely, but is there a free and easy way to lower the levels of them?

If you have stereo samples with vocals you need removed, and the vocals are pretty much down the centre, try vocal remover from analog-x. It is a directX plugin, and runs in sound forge, audition etc. It does a good job under the right conditions.

Otherwise, lots of patient tinkering with gates and EQ.
