Don't hate me, but how can I booktype a +R to -ROM w/ Nero?

I _think_ that this is the right forum for this...

3500 Nec writer, with 2.17 firmware. Nero 6.3.1.25. As I understand it a +RL will auto to -ROM, but really I'm interested in booktyping a +R or +RW (assuming both will work) to a -ROM. Do I have to get yet another utility, and must I install an unofficial firmware for this? The option is not under nero's recorder menu, where you can set a few options for the burner...

I use BookType, a utility from LiteOn when I had its DVD burner. I found that it works also on my new Sony double layer burner as well. Get it from the LiteOn site. My burner was the 411S.

Bootype Utility will not work on an NEC-3500. It is for LiteOn writers only. The Sony mentioned is a re-badged LiteOn.

Go Here for all the info you can get on that drive. I have one also and use the Liggy's Beta 8 f/w that supports automatic DVD-ROM bitsetting.
