  1. Hi All , i install Avicodec and G-spot .........but i'm not sure wat codec i need . When i load my avi files into Virtualdub , it gave me a error saying ,

    (Couln't locate decompressor for format 'MP43' Microsoft high speed MPEG-4 V3) .......... Virtualdub requires a Video for window (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video.Directshot codecs,such as those use by Window Media Player , are not suitable )

    Basically i need to know wat codec i need for encoding with TMPGenc ....can someone advise ??

    Do you have it installed?

  3. This is wat i got from AVIcodec ,

    File : 201 MB (201 MB), duration: 0:45:03, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 13 %

    Video : 183 MB, 569 Kbps, 11.988 fps, 352*240 (4:3), MP43 = MS MPEG4 V3, Supported

    Audio : 18.4 MB, 56 Kbps, 24000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported.

  4. Well, then it sounds to me that the codec you need is MS MPEG4 V3, I think you can find it here, just go to the tools section, then codecs. If not search for it in google.

  5. But AVIcodec & G-spot says its supported ........ anyone have any idea??

    BTW how do i know whether my AVI file is Divx or Xvid ???

    If my memory serves me correctly DivX3.11 Alpha is what you want.

    Make sure after installing Divx3.11 that you then run the "Run Me First" sound set up.

  7. Ok thx guys ..........i got it fix ......i install the latest Divx 5.2.1 codec and now i can load the avi files to Virtualdub and Tmpgenc.

    Btw i heard Divx 5.2.1 comes with spyware ?? i only see it comes with optional divx pro trail 6 month and google toolbar .
