tmpgenc dvd author freezes !!!!

i'm trying to encode a few .dat files into a dvd w/ tmpgenc dvd author when i click the begin output button at around 6 mins it freezes and i have to do a hard reset on my computer. so i was thinking it must be the .dat files so i use tmpgenc 2.5 to convert all of them to vcd mpgs and then run tmpgenc dvd author again and it still freezes when it's at 6 mins writing clip. so i think it's a problem with my hard drive so i defrag and check for errors ... still does the same thing .... i reinstall all my video card drivers and still the same thing ... does anyone know whats going on ??? dvd author worded good before and there is no other program like it !!!

yes i have both 1.5 and 1.6 and both of them freezes ... before i did the defrag and the reinstallation of the video drivers 1.6 would give me a divided by zero error but after i did the defrag and reinstallation of video drivers it just freezes like 1.5 ...... really frustrating ..

anyone have any idea on what's happening ? it's really bugging me w/ all these big files on my hd ....
