    need help. My son is in University and he need a program called 3DSMax 5.2, but I can only find 3dsmax 6 can any one help ,or point me in the right direction

    The current version of Max is 6. Discreet does not allow the transfer of licenses, so it would be illegal to buy a copy of version 5 (the .2 refers to the service packs, which can be downloaded from Discreet). His university bookshop should carry academic versions of Max 6. Otherwise contact Discreet, or your local Discreet stockist to see if they have any old copies in stock.

    I'm surprised that 6 is not acceptable, as it does everything that 5 does, and is more stable.
