I am having a problem with converting a SVCD to DVD. First I use Isobuster to convert it to a mpg then I use virtualDub to convert to a avi (compressing with divx). Last I use tmpgenc to convert to dvd and autor it using tmpgenc. The Main problem that I am having is that on the SVCD disk it is show widescreen 576x260 but when I convert it it shows at 480x576. Is their something I can do in tmpgenc. I have tried changing the Video arrange Method to Full screen (keep aspect ratio) but it does not work. thanks

    Hello,

Why don't you convert to mpg only???? Dvd standard is mpeg2. That may be part of your problem.

Also, use keep aspect ratio should be the best bet.

480 * 576 is the correct resolution for PAL SVCD. Your player software will display at at a 4:3 aspect ratio when displayed on your PC. If it is a widescreen picture it will have black bars top and bottom.

In order to convert to DVD compliant format, use it direct in TmpGenc (or frameserv it from dvd2avi) and set the resolution to 352*576 (or 720*576, though I reccomend the lower res in this case). Use full screen keep aspect ratio and set the aspect ratio on the video tab of the settings dialog as 16:9. This should work fine.
