Divx is basically Mpeg4 (*.avi) There are a few differing versions available .
    eg: 3.11, 4.11 , angel potion
Note: angel potion is a hack , i use it , but virtual dub has issues.

How To : Get appropite Divx codec.
    load file into Virtual Dub.
    edit as required
    frame serve to TMPEGEnc
    make Mpeg1 (vcd 1150,224)

Goto the virtual dub web page for more info on frameserving

All this is pointless since the mpeg4 file will most likly have a lower video AND audio bitrate than the VCD standard.
Trying to make something outta nothing ...... again

  3. In order to convert DIVx movies to VCD with TMPGenc, do the following:
    1. With Virtual Dubbing in full processing mode extract audio from the movie (File->Save WAV)
    2. Rename the audio file from WAV to MP3 and use it as the audio source with TMPGEnc.
    3. Of course, the video source will be the actual DIVx movie.
    4. Load the VCD PAL/NTSC template and hit encode.

    Note:
This will only work with DIVx codecs version 3.11 installed.
