  2. The two are totally differenet cards. The PCTV is a plain AVI video capture card using the BT8x8 chip. You need a lot of hard drive space and a fast CPU. The DC10+ is a hardware Mjpeg compression card, where the compression is done by the card itself. Last time I checked, there are only a few capture resolutions available, and 352x240, 480x480, and 720x480 were not an available option. It's basically a 640x480 capture card. Try the new version of the DC10+, the Studio AV7, it has many more options, including a internal software mpeg-1/2 compressor. You get the DC10+ card, and the new software capture suite that has a nice editor, where you can output your movie to video tape, save the file as AVI, streaming media file format, or mpeg. This is a nice stand alone video production package where you can make VCDs, SVCDs, and DVD quality video ($129)

  3. I think all depends of your output project format:
    - if you stay with mjpeg than DC10 it a pretty good option with fast and good results
    - if you plan to further encode to mpeg1 or mpeg2 (VCD, S-VCD, ...) than you may want to go with the PC TV Pro. The result is supposed to be better because you don't have 2 times lossy compressions.
