I'm sure its here somewhere, but I cannot find it. Been trying to determine reliable media. Ritek-this... Ty-that. Not a tremendous amount of help when looking at the shelf containing brand names, most of which use multiple mfg sources.
So, is there a list, or rules of thumb, that translate these media codes to products I can purchase in a store? Some of what I have seen is "made in Japan" is better than "made elsewhere", but I'm a confused noob!

Thanks - already reviewed that list, which is somewhat where my confusion began. Very different results among different brands even when the media code is identical. Wondered if there was yet another parameter that was not necessarily part of that database. Perhaps it is nothing more than trial and error.
Am I at least correct in the assumption that many of these brands can appear otherwise identical (outside packaging), but some will be made in Japan, and others made, say in Taiwan, and the ones in Japan are usually better? (that is the kind of "rule of thumb" I was referring to).
Thanks again.
