  1. How can i transfer the video data i have in my ccd-v9 sony camcorder onto my PC.

    I tried attaching it to my video card but i can't access it anywhere on my comp.

    Does your camcorder have a firewire (sony i-link) port? Does your computer have a firewire port? That's the best way to link a DV camcorder to a PC. You can get a firewire card for your PC if necessary.

  3. i got a panasonic digital video cam last week
    it said it would connect via usb on the box but it turned out that you could only transfer stills via the usb connection
    so i went out and bought a £10 firewire card from www.ebuyer.co.uk and it worked within minutes

    Als, look into the following apps for "capture" from a DV cam (in no particualr order):

    WinDV
    AVI_IO
    DVIO
    Scenalyzer Live

    As well as editing packages like Adobe Premiere (I use v6.0).
