Does your camcorder have a firewire (sony i-link) port? Does your computer have a firewire port? That's the best way to link a DV camcorder to a PC. You can get a firewire card for your PC if necessary.

i got a panasonic digital video cam last week
it said it would connect via usb on the box but it turned out that you could only transfer stills via the usb connection
so i went out and bought a £10 firewire card from www.ebuyer.co.uk and it worked within minutes -
Yea seems to be the only thing to do is get a firewire card, I guess thats wat ill do. thx

Als, look into the following apps for "capture" from a DV cam (in no particualr order):
WinDV
AVI_IO
DVIO
Scenalyzer Live
As well as editing packages like Adobe Premiere (I use v6.0).There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
