  1. I am relatively sure i'm doing something wrong in the burning process...though I can't imagine what it is. When burning a standard VCD (not an SVCD) using Roxio's VCD Creator, the CDRW copies always work perfectly...but CDR copies, regardless of what type of media I use...do not. I am finalizing the disc when finished, and have read through quite a lot of info on this site and others. My DVD player says that it does support CDR and CDRW formats. I have tried burning at 8X, 4X, and 2X...and nothing has made any difference...although I have discovered that Audio CD's do not play well in my computer's DVDRom drive if they are burnt at faster than 2X. I suppose I may resort to burning everything on CDRW...but that will be quite annoying. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you. Live long and prosper.

hehe. i recommend using nero to burn vcds (and svcds).
i have zero problems with nero to date, been using it for over 2 years now.

i never did like the adaptec/roxio products such as ezcd. =P
