creating my vcd

Ok i have read so much tonight on this that my brain is burning so any help would be great. Here's what i've done so far..I have taken an .avi file and converted it to an .mpg file using TMPGE. Then i convert the .mpg file into a .bin file using vcdimagergui. then i burn the .bin file onto a cd-r disk using adaptic easy cd creator. but everytime i try and play the disk on my dvd player, which is compatible, it wont play. it recognizes that the cd has a track and it starts playing the track but no video or sound. what am i doing wrong? is the file i burn on the cd supposeto be a .bin file? i am totally lost on doing this and have gone through like 6 cds trying this..any help i would love thnks alot...

after you convert your file to mpg using tmpge its ready to be burned to vcd using easy cd 5 0r nero. you dont need to change it to a bin file.
