Help with Ulead Video Sudio 7 Problems

Howdy,

I'm running into some problems when converting my DV's to DVD format using Ulead Video Studio 7.

I have followed all the steps and settings according to Jerry Jones guide to capturing/Editing/Authoring DV to DVD from this site.

1) When I've completed capturing my video clips I get a "Video duration is too long and will be trimmed" message for the clips before it inserts them into the video tracks section. This doesn't seem to be too much of a problem as all the clips show up in the video tracks section intact, but I'm not sure whether this creates problems later.

2) I don't know whether this is a problem or not, but when I initially set up the AVI project properties I set them to this:

NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
PCM, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

But after I've captured the video the audio portion is Format:PCM and the Attributes show:32.000 kHz and 16 Bit, Stereo and when I check the project properties it has changed to 32.000 kHZ and 16 Bit, Stereo.

3) The editing portion and saving the DV.AVI video goes without problems, but when I import the DV.AVI into my MPEG-2 project and render it I get a "Video failed to Encode" message right at the end?? I'm not sure why, but it seems to go throught the whole video rendering and then fails right at the end?? Not sure what the hecks going on. I have been through this process before and made DVDs without instance.My settings for my MPEG-2 project are as follows:

NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order A
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8264 kbps)
LPCM Audio, 48 KHz, Stereo

Could there be a problem with the DV.AVI audio being 32.000 kHZ and 16 Bit, Stereo?

The only thing different I can tell you now is that I downloaded VS8 trial a while ago, but never really used it and the time ran out so I uninstalled it from my system. Could it have messed something up in VS7?? Should I try reinstalling VS7?

looks like a software problem. try to uninstall then reinstall it. try to change the audio settings under Option in Capture mode.
