I got a NEC ND-1100A Dell OEM burner from my friend. It has a 10GE firmware, it seems that it only burns all discs at 2.4X. It should burn at 4X. There are lots of firmwares for the non Dell version, but the newset for the Dell is 10GE. Is there a way for me to use any non Dell OEM firmwares?

I have the same drive. I've searched and haven't yet found any firmware upgrades for it.

I have been wondering about this for some time.
I'm in the same boat. Things burned fine at 4X before I did the firmware upgrade.
Has anyody had any luck doing the firmware change on this Dell drive?
I'd like to try, but a 2.4X drive is better than a pooched one.
