I want to capture up to 120 hours of footage in 4 hour segments. I have 25GB of space available and am not too concerned about the quality.
I thought about using DIVX or XVID at a resolution of 352 x 288 with mono sound. Does this sound ok?
1 - What program would I need to capture straight to XVID/DIVX?
2 - Would a 500Mhz PC with 192MB RAM on windows 2000 be ok for this?
3 - If possible I would like to have this program timed to capture for four hours at a time when I specify. I know Power VCR can be programmed to do this, but does it capture straight to divx/xvid?
Thanks in advance for any help!

I'll do some tests to see how well it captures. There will be no antivirus software running or anything like that. and no other programs installed apart from the capturing software.

The best program that I have found which can capture to divx, picvideo, or huffy is ShowShifter. There is absolutely no sync issues. You can also Schedule recordings. Its an all in one and if you have a TV Tuner it can also Pause live tv.
There is a trial.
