HP Recoverr Disc?!?!?!

i would like too know will my HP REcovery Disc hold my Win98 OS becuase my computer didnt come with the OS Disc ..so im asking if it holds the Win98 OS...i would like to do a fresh install becuase i have sooo many unused files that i want to get rid of

Yes. There are 2 options on the recovery. there's one to recover everything and one to just load windows over itself. This disk will only run on a HP computer that has its serial number tattoo'ed in the bios. If you change the system board the cd will not work untill the board is tattoo'ed. A ctrl alt S from windows should bring up the TATTOO information.

what recovery cd's have is an image of when you first got the computer,you know when there were hundred's of little links to crap on the net.It loads the image in 2 ways.

1.Format your HD
2.Not Format,just overwrite everything (like system files and such,not other things like mp3's or stuff you downloaded after you had the computer).

So this will work.But afterwards,the task of installing your driver's for your stuff is anoying.But atleast its a good clean start.I just did this to an emachine I have and everything went nice.I chose the FORMAT option and went all the way.Again dont forget to back up your stuff if your going with the FORMAT option.

Soo you mean that it has everything i first started out with and the Windows98 Os on the CD....if thats correct im very happy

Yup,its an image of when you first got it,so technically it does have windows on it,yeah.
