  1. Based on everyone's recommendations I'm using the TMP programs for authoring/burning. The only problem I have with them so far is with Nero I can choose EP, SP or LP. I like that option so I can fit more TV shows onto a DVD. I'm not very concerned about quality as these are just shows I'm recording to DVDRW to watch once and then erase.

    Is there any way to choose the SP, LP, EP in the TMP programs?

    Adjust bitrate/res to achieve this.
    Follow a guide.

    I'll tell you this here:
    "SP" = 720x480 5.5VBR = 2 hour
    "LP" = 352x480 2.5VBR = 4 hour
    "EP" = crap = VCD = 352x240 1.5VBR = 6 hours

    The beauty of a PC and bitrate control is that you can do what you want.

    I tend to use 3-hour time a LOT.
    That's about 3.5VBR 352x480 = 3 hours

    LP mode is the best of both worlds.

  4. I agree with lordsmurf. Generally any more than 3 hours on a DVD-5 and your asking for some pretty nasty visuals.

  5. I never go over SP myself, don't want to sacrifice any quality when discs are so cheap.
